About this company

My client company is part of a privately owned conglomerate, with interests in upstream, downstream, midstream, power and infrastructure. These operate in Nigeria, W Africa, Europe and Far East with corporate offices in Lagos, Abuja, Abidjan, Accra, Dubai, Geneva, Isle of Man and Singapore. Turnover has grown annually by 30% CAGR to $12B, mainly through trading, refining, storing and shipping crude and refined products. The company expanded into upstream in the past decade acquiring positions in Nigeria and W Africa. Today its affiliates operate or participate in five E&P licenses in Nigeria, one in Ghana and two in Ivory Coast. One affiliate drilled two offshore wells; another is currently drilling the second well of a three well onshore program. The company tested 7000 bpd in three zones in well 1 and is logging and testing well 2 currently. First production is anticipated in 2014. The company participated in IOC asset sales, raising more than $2B, and was a finalist in both the Chevron 2013 asset sale of OML 52, 53 & 55 and Shell 2014 asset sale of OML 18, 24, 25, 29. IPO plans are on the horizon for the company, with a spinoff of the upstream now in preparation. A readiness assessment by a top accounting firm is complete.
