Plan, implement and troubleshoot
software patches, updates and security fixes;
·
Be involved in new Windows servers
deployment projects, using the department policies;
·
Administer OS, Directory, email,
Databases and Web servers + networking equipment.
·
Evaluate/recommend purchases of
computers, network hardware, peripherals and software;
·
Investigate user problems, identify
their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
·
Configure, maintain and troubleshoot
servers, networks, applications, printers and other related equipment, devices,
and systems.
·
Maintain site licenses for
department/organization.
·
Develop and conduct various training
and instruction to assist users in maximizing use of systems and networks
·
Identify utilization patterns and
their effect on operation/system availability and performance
·
Anticipate communication and
networking problems and implement preventive measures.
·
Establish and perform maintenance
programs following company and vendor standards.
·
Ensure timely user notification of
maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
·
Investigate, recommend and install
enhancements and operating procedures that optimize system availability.
·
Maintain confidentiality with regard
to the Data and Information on the various systems
·
Document system problems and
resolutions for future reference.
·
Verifications of backup routines and
restore capabilities
·
Understand performance metrics and
maintain / optimize system capacity and performance;
·
Create and update system
documentation
·
Follow the existing processes based
on ITIL best practices
·
Availability to provide 24/7 support
on duty rotation.
Desired Skills and Experience
What
we are looking for:
·
A Bachelor’s Degree enhanced with
technical training and certification or equivalent.
·
5+ years of experience in support,
networks and servers administration
·
Solid experience with Microsoft
Windows Servers and Active Directory 2008/2012, group
policies, certificate authority and federation services
·
Experience with Microsoft Exchange
2007/2010, mail routing and spam filtering, mailbox management, backup and recovery,
·
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server,
IIS and web services
·
Experience with VMware / Hyper-V is
an asset
·
Experience with scripting languages
·
Experience with SharePoint is an
advantage
·
Experience with storage management
(SAN/NAS) is an asset
·
Experience with IP based
networks, communication protocols , firewalls and packet routing , LAN,
WAN , VPN, WLAN, NAC
·
Experience with Cisco switches and
routers 3560 and above models.
·
Knowledge of access control and
security concepts
·
Knowledge of backups, high availability
and disaster recovery of (AD, Exchange, Databases)
·
VCP/MCSE/A+/CCNA/etc...
certifications are an asset
·
ITIL knowledge and experience is an
asset
·
Good understanding of IT business
practices and processes
·
Independent self-starter, needs
little supervision.
·
Takes a logical approach to analyzing
problems. Systematically researches information. Explores alternatives and
implements action plans to resolve problems.
·
Proactive in acquiring information to
develop new skills to improve job performance. Grasps new material quickly and
