Key responsibilities
- Assist in the origination and execution of transactions for both existing and prospective clients;
- Assist in developing financial advisory and or debt arranging mandates for identified opportunities;
- Developing, building and manipulation of excel spreadsheets and other comprehensive financial models / for transactions;
- Working alongside and liaising with credit teams in preparation of financial models, Application For Credit Facilities, Terms Sheets and Offer Letters and any other transaction documents, as well as arranging documents to be signed;
- Assisting in providing supporting materials for writing credit application documents jointly with the Credit Team, submitting and presenting all requisite approval documents;
- Assist in developing and completion of transaction deliverables (i.e. Information Memoranda, Transaction Timetable, Financial Models, Term Sheets, etc);
- Working in conjunction with other team members for putting forward innovative financing solutions to clients, the bank’s senior management and colleagues;
- Liaise and assist in driving ancilliary revenues by engaging with other teams (on an ongoing basis). Such teams include Credit, Transactional product services, Finance, Business Banking, Global Markets e.t.c.;
- Establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients and accompanying other senior members of the bank at client meetings;
- Assist in undertaking financial analysis of company / financial statements and preparing brief internal reports based on findings;
- Assist in preparing presentation materials and making presentations to clients and colleagues;
- Preparing files as to be ready for the annual audit process and assist in discussing, responding and reacting to comments raised by the Audit division;
- Assist senior members of the department in day-to-day work as delegated and carrying out other duties as required by the job;
- Ensure that the policies, procedures and processes of the bank are being followed;
- Coaching of junior colleagues to ensure they are motivated and are able to support the team objectives.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualification/Experience/Competencies
- The job holder should have a minimum of eight years finance related experience, preferably from a banking background;It would be an advantage for the job holder to have at least a Masters Degree in a finance / business / economics related discipline, however this is not deemed a prerequisite for effectively undertaking the role – a professional related qualification would also suffice;
- The technical skills required for the role will include computer literacy, Microsoft word, excel and power-point, general accounting / budgeting skills, project management, transaction risk management assessment, credit evaluation skills.
- Sound economic and business acumen;
- Team player;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Posses analytical skills;
- Excellent Customer services orientation;
- Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point;
- English is a must for undertaking the role;
- Energetic;
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Able to generate and implement innovative financing solutions
