Role Summary/Purpose
The PGP Sales & Market Development Manager will report directly into the Africa GM and be responsible for driving the growth and development of new PGP markets in region, delivering on the regional business plan for a growing and complex region and working with the Project development team in driving execution on PGP projects in SSA.
Essential Responsibilities
•Develop solutions for customers in order to drive Sales of PGP products and sales pull thru for adjacent GE products in SSA
•Support the delivery on fiscal year business plan and build a strong mid to long term deal pipeline of projects to sustain deal flow
•Serve as the principle interface with the Power Project Development team in West Africa
•Work with GM to clearly lay out the project prioritization for the Sales team
•Work in collaboration with the GGO Project Development team to drive project execution
•Support Sales team, to create high value to GE by selling the value of our products and integration solutions
•Develop strong professional relationships with key regional or sector influencers up to and including customers, Partners, CEO's and Mnister level
•Develop a pipeline of business opportunities for the assigned regional/sector, and a clear strategy for achieving success on these projects in coordination with Development and Country leaders
•Achieving ongoing sales growth and profitability targets in the region selling the full portfolio of products and services in partnership with the Account Management and Project Development Teams.
•Ability to build a strong mid to long term deal pipeline while supporting GM and Sales team to execute on current year Operating Plan
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelors in Engineering or relevant Commercial discipline
•10 years commercial experience
•Proven track record of leading high performing teams
•Demonstrated ability to manage in Matrix environment/organization
•Ability to manage large, complex sales cycles
•A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
•Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
Desired Characteristics
• Working knowledge of GE desired with experience in GE Sales and Commercial Programs a strong plus
• Working knowledge of regional Power market in SSA and understanding of the IPP framework in SSA desired
• Experience closing large (multi-million USD) deals in SSA region
• Strong existing Government relationships with regional players and decision makers in the Power sector in the SSA region (Project Developers, EPC's, IPP's etc.)
• Working knowledge of Finance and understanding of deal strategy required
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Strong sales team leadership skills with a successful sales growth track record and negotiation skills
• Executive presence with strong oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of market economics, competitive issues, technology and projects
