Job description
·
Responsible for supporting the sales
team in building bid processes, bid strategies and driving through to
completion
·
Provide thought leadership and
previous experiences to the team in order to influence Bid strategies and
approach to customers
·
Provide leadership to the virtual bid
team by ensuring the team understand the strategy and their role in delivering
the strategy
·
Work closely with the sales and
account management team to understand customer requirements in order to
ensure a solution that meets their requirements with appropriate value
proposition
·
Responsible for ensuring appropriate
sign off by stakeholders before bid submission, ensuring that financial
and commercial governance has been followed
·
Provide the required balance between
customer and sales objectives, with a need to make returns and also manage risk
to the business
·
Share best practice with the virtual
bid team and the commercial team in order to continually improve the defined
bid process
·
Demonstrate strong commercial skills in
advising sales and assessing profitability of deals
·
Coordinate and complete responses to
RFT, RFPs etc. in terms of content and pricing
·
Make a go/ no-go decisions on
new commercial initiatives
·
Preparing performance reports and
giving required updates in a timely fashion
Perform
other job related duties as required
Desired Skills and Experience
·
To strategically manage bid and RTF
responses for VBN, ensuring that all activities are completed and customer
deliverables made on time
·
Building responses, ensuring
effective understanding of customer requirements, customer focus and a clear
presentation of VBN value proposition using best practice principles
·
Creating pricing for proposals and
bespoke tenders, commercial analysis of proposals
·
Ensuring all risks are clearly stated
and understood, mitigated and accepted by all stakeholders
·
The job holder must have a Bachelor
Degree in Engineering, Commercial or any Business related discipline. A Second
Class Upper will be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in
Telecommunications or ICT environment from which 3 years’ experience in
Bid management and pricing development and must have at least 2-3 years’
experience in a managerial capacity. Prior experience in international
environments and workgroups is important.
