Job description

·        Responsible for supporting the sales team in building bid processes, bid strategies and driving through to completion
·        Provide thought leadership and previous experiences to the team in order to influence Bid strategies and approach to customers
·        Provide leadership to the virtual bid team by ensuring the team understand the strategy and their role in delivering the strategy
·        Work closely with the sales and account management team to understand customer requirements in order to ensure  a solution that meets their requirements with appropriate value proposition
·        Responsible for ensuring appropriate sign off by stakeholders before bid submission, ensuring  that financial and commercial governance has been followed
·        Provide the required balance between customer and sales objectives, with a need to make returns and also manage risk to the business
·        Share best practice with the virtual bid team and the commercial team in order to continually improve the defined bid process
·        Demonstrate strong commercial skills in advising sales and assessing profitability of deals
·        Coordinate and complete responses to RFT, RFPs etc. in terms of content and pricing
·        Make a go/  no-go decisions on new commercial initiatives
·        Preparing performance reports and giving required updates in a timely fashion
Perform other job related duties as required

Desired Skills and Experience

·        To strategically manage bid and RTF responses for VBN, ensuring that all activities are completed and customer deliverables made on time
·        Building responses, ensuring effective understanding of customer requirements, customer focus and a clear presentation of VBN value proposition using best practice principles
·        Creating pricing for proposals and bespoke tenders, commercial analysis of proposals
·        Ensuring all risks are clearly stated and understood, mitigated and accepted by all stakeholders
·        The job holder must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Commercial or any Business related discipline. A Second Class Upper will be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Telecommunications or ICT environment  from which 3 years’ experience in Bid management and pricing development and must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a managerial capacity.  Prior experience in international environments and workgroups is important.

Provides custom integration implementation support on EMC products involving software, at the customer site, including pre-site inspection, initial installation, implementation, customization, integration and outline orientation for the customer. Works closely with EMC Sales, Customer Service, Project Managers and other TS personnel, Corporate Technical Support and the customer to ensure a smooth implementation and transition from start-up to integration/production mode. Capable of working with minimal supervision. Considered an expert in the implementation and use of EMC software and hardware products. Knowledgeable of industry best practices in the implementation of complex storage environments. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with EMC Sales, TS and external customers.
·         Represents EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel at all times. Trains customer personnel when authorized by TS Management. Provides support and instruction to less experienced co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring. Acts as a mentor and assists or presents training development environments to peers, customers and other organizations. Acts as back up to Project Manager or to provide technical team leadership on specific implementations. May be required to act as Project Manager on less complex implementations.

·         Performs according to established safety standards. Reports unsafe situations and recommends improvements.

·         Supports and reports to engagement Project Manager while assigned to active customer engagements. Advises Project Manager on Level of Effort required to perform the assigned software implementations. Ensures that all project communication with the customer goes through the engagement Project Manager.

·         Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures. Keeps Project Managers informed of activities, alerting of any issues promptly. Provides updates to EMC case tracking system and or other technical applications for Software implementation and Problem Reporting/Resolution. Completes end-of-project reports.

·         Tracks, maintains and reports any travel and expense activities which are re-billable to the customer based on the engagement's Statement of Work.

·         Seeks advice or assistance from TS management and/or CS Technical Support as required during difficult customer situations. Works in conjunction with EMC CS or TS colleagues to ensure effective resolution of technical issues encountered during implementations.

·         Installs EMC software products in a Mainframe and/or Open Systems hardware environment per the specifications in the Statement of Work, Scope document, Architecture Design Document or Project Manager direction. Performs highly complex and/or extended-stay software implementations. Successfully manages relations with Customers utilizing well-developed negotiation and influencing skills to acquire the internal and external resources necessary for optimal results. Supports Program Managers, Project Managers and Solutions Architects in developing Scopes of Work and Project Plans. May also occasionally support other activities as needed.

We are currently recruiting for a Shutdown Planner on a rotational basis located at Bonny Island, Nigeria, initial duration is 3-4 months with possible extension until December 2014. 

The successful candidate will be required t o produce overall shutdown level-IV Work Schedule including Manpower & progress Reports Histogram and S-curve. 

To attend periodic meeting (i.e., monthly, weekly, & etc) relevant to plant shutdown as scheduled by NLNG Shutdown Coordinator/Engineer. 

Accountability 

Own, update and create level 1/2/3/5 schedules for all Shutdowns and PET projects, to liaise with all departments, discipline and team leads to create an integrated Master Schedule. 

To review the shutdown approved scope list from NLNG Turnaround and use as starting point for planning / scheduling work. Establish any further documentation required to execute the work. 

Principal Responsibilities 

Carry out planning and scheduling activities for all stages of SDs project Life cycle. During shutdown proper to update the work progress, and reports on daily basis and attend daily progress meeting as chaired by the NLNG Shutdown Coordinator/Engineer. Identify to the shutdown Team any areas of concern, with regard to delays/slippage or may constitute a change in scope. To prepare close-out report upon completion of shutdown activities. 

Job Requirements 

Project management mythologies, extensive planning, project controls and scheduling experience. 

Managed a multicultural and multiethnic labour and supervisory force including local nationals 

Able to produce/present detailed reports. 

Planning Tool, Primavera – P3 & P6 

Minimum of 5 years post graduation experience as a mechanical or maintenance Engineer in the oil & gas petrochemical power or mining industry. Engineering position in the oil and gas petrochemical or similar process industry. 

HND or B.Sc / B.ENG Mechanical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
