Job description
The financial Director's main responsibility will be to lead the Commercial, Supply Chain and Distribution Services Finance functions for the company and to manage the financial affairs, systems and processes in accordance with Group accounting policies and relevant regulatory requirements, thereby ensuring tight financial controls and safe-guarding of assets. This will be done through participation on the senior executive team, to provide appropriate financial input, perspective and leadership to the short and long term development of the company.
Act as the financial business partner to the top management team and ensure that the short and long term financial returns are optimized.
He/She will have as responsibilities to:

1.      Manage the profitability of the company and ensure that profit, working capital, capex and cash commitments are met. Consistently keep the management team updated of the profit status and pro-actively ensure that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
2.      Co-ordinate the Country Ambition Plan and annual budget and forecasts and ensure their timely delivery, plus optimization of profitability, balancing short and long term goals.
3.      Ensure that effective controls are in place to safe-guard company assets and that the returns of the same are optimized.
4.      Through pro-active financial analysis, guide the management team in decision-making, business reviews and ensure strong financial leadership.
5.      Ensure that effective controls are in place across the Supply Chain and that key drivers of manufacturing performance (including variances) are fully understood and optimized, throughout the factories. Ensure accurate costing, which is understood throughout the plants. Ensure structured reviews of the Supply Chain performance, with issues being addressed in a timely manner.
6.      Ensure that sufficient spending controls are in place to achieve budgets/spending commitments. Approve all relevant commitments and invoices in line with the authorization matrix. Ensure compliance with appropriate credit control procedures.
7.      Ensure that all initiatives, capital or revenue, are assessed financially and that returns are optimized.                
8.      Drive and support key business processes as required, e.g. performance tracking, S&OP and balanced scorecards. Provide both functional and overall business perspective.
9.      Ensure that sufficient knowledge and professional skills are available within the function to support the business, so that the function can provide true business partnership and support.
10.   Ensure that team members are recruited, motivated and continually developed and coached.
Desired Skills and Experience
1.      Minimum 10-15 year relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a number one position.
2.      Professional qualification and MBA of advantage.
3.      Manufacturing/industrial and commercial experience required.
4.      Previous knowledge of Commercial Accounting.
5.      Experience of Nigeria and Africa is mandatory
